This Autumn-Winter ‘17, PUMA drops the Day of the Dead Pack in celebration of the widely observed ‘El Día de Los Muertos’ festival in Mexico that honours departed loved ones. Drawing inspiration from the iconic skull figures known as Calacas, the pack symbolizes a colorful, reunion of the living and the dead in contrast to a sombre day of mourning
Observed in Mexico and around the world, ‘El Día de Los Muertos’ is renowned for its unique celebration and joyful atmosphere.
The two day event invites the souls of the departed back to reunite with their loved ones in a joyful celebration of ther life. Traditions include building private altars called ofrendas, honoring the deceased using calaveras, aztec marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts.
The Day of The Dead pack offers new iterations of four PUMA classics with intricate jacquard material uppers in black with a standout colorful skull and flower allover design. Each sneaker is completed with a black suede PUMA Formstrip and overlays.
The Day of the Dead pack launches on October 19 in PUMA stores, PUMA.com and lifestyle retailers worldwide.
